Can I promote affiliate links on social media
Yes, you can promote your affiliate links on your social media accounts provided that your not promoting anything that is against the social media platform you use but most of the time you can promote them on social media with no issues.
What are the best ways to get traffic to my affiliate links
You can get traffic promoting your affiliate links with social media, writing a quality blog post promoting your affiliate links, promoting with search engine marketing, and even email marketing as well.
Is it free to post affiliate links on social media
Yes, you can post affiliate links on social media for free and promote them that way without any out of pocket money.
Website
Having your very own website is a fantastic way for you to advertise all your affiliate marketing links online and showcasing everything about your offers and building your very own brand as well.
When you have a website you can build your own presence online for your affiliate marketing business so you can advertise your affiliate links.
I can give you some great examples of why you should have your very own website online to advertise your affiliate links and why you shouldn’t rely too heavily on some of the places you can advertise your links as well.
If you have your very own website you have total control over the content that you can place on your very own site when it comes to advertising your affiliate links.
Now for those of you who are not interested in having your very own website to offer your affiliate links online that is quite fine, as having your very own website is not for everybody, I highly recommend it but that is up to you.
Ok, let’s say you don’t have a website and you’re using the social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Pinterest to advertise your links on their platforms.
Now one day you wake up and one of your social media accounts gets shut down for some reason as this can happen very easily as it depends on what may have caused this to you.
So for example you just spent the last couple of years building a following on that social media account and in the blink of an eye your account just got shut down and boom you’re out of business overnight with your affiliate marketing links, now not being shown to those followers you worked so hard at getting.
I will give you another example, maybe the social media account for some strange reason got sold to another business and they change their terms and conditions and now you have got to build that following all over again from scratch doing it again.
Now, having your very own website you have total control of the site, the content, the affiliate marketing links that you put on there and you won’t have to worry about getting your site shutdown one day unless you decide to shut it down if you are no longer interested in promoting affiliate marketing links.
With you owning and having total control of the site it gives you peace of mind that your affiliate marketing links have the power of you controlling them on your terms to show and advertise to others.
If you’re going to proceed and start your very own website I would highly recommend you to start a WordPress site and do it that way, if you are not familiar I published this article not too long ago that can help you in the process of setting up your own site.
Blog
Starting your very own blog is another way to advertise your affiliate links and start to build a brand and following for others to come to your blog and read your content and in turn, click on your affiliate links and start earning commissions with your blog and affiliate links.
Having a blog is a fantastic way to get traffic to your affiliate links if you can get serious about starting a blog and creating quality content that will over time get you lots of organic traffic to your blog, and hopefully get those visitors to click on your affiliate links to earn commissions.
I’m going, to be honest here about starting a blog, it takes a lot of time and hard work, and its not going to be easy at first but if you stick with it you can make your blog very successful, and before you know it you can have lots of visitors clicking on your affiliate links.
Creating a blog and getting traffic does take time and getting organic traffic doesn’t happen overnight, but if you can create quality content and publish content on a daily or weekly basis you should start to receive traffic to your blog and affiliate links within a year or so.
Some blogs can earn traffic in 3 to 6 months but that is an exception to the rule as there is a lot of factors involved in getting organic traffic to your blog, but that’s another subject altogether.
I could make this post a lot longer to explain it but if you want to learn more about how to start a blog go to this article I have published not too long ago.
Social Media
Social Media is a great place to advertise your affiliate links if you’re looking to share them with friends and family and even promote them on social media.
The nice thing about promoting affiliate links on social media is you are given a chance to promote those links with those platforms and you can reach the masses in doing so with little or no money.
If your looking to build a following to your affiliate links and even to your website or blog then doing it on the social media platforms is a great way of doing it for free providing you are willing to do the work and build that following on social media.
With social media you can make a post about your affiliate links to promote on a daily basis or a couple of times a day, I personally wouldn’t advise you to be doing it every hour or every 5 minutes as that will most likely get those that are following you irritated and stop following you.
So, for example, Facebook if you chose that platform you can post updates with them as much as you like but I would not do it more than three times a day at most.
With Facebook you can schedule your post to be scattered over 24 hours and have them posted automatically over that time frame, all you need to do is to log in to your Facebook account create some posts for your affiliate links, and schedule them to post at a certain time and day.
With social media, you can also pay them if you like so you can make sales faster if that is something you’re looking to do while your waiting for organic traffic to start pouring into your website or blog and your affiliate links.
You can create a paid campaign with your social media accounts and pay them to start promoting your affiliate links or even have them directed to your website or blog and that way customers can see all your affiliate links your promoting.
How it works is you create a campaign and they in turn will charge you so much money for clicks they send to the advertising campaign you set up with them.
For example, you’re into the health and wellness affiliate programs you’re trying to promote, then every time someone clicks on that advertisement you created with that social media account they will charge you anywhere from 1 cent a click to 1.00 a click just depends on how competitive you want to target that market for competitiveness and keywords.
Using social media can be very rewarding if you know how to approach it but can also be very expensive if you are not careful on how to go about promoting on them if you’re spending any budget on the paid campaigns.
YouTube Videos
Do you like the thought of doing videos to promote your affiliate links or are you the shy type to get in front of the camera to make a video to use as a tool to promote your affiliate programs?
YouTube is now the second-largest search engine in the world now, so if your not the type of person who can get in front of the camera to do affiliate marketing then you are really missing out on that market and that market is huge.
Some of the biggest affiliate marketers are using YouTube now to promote their affiliate links and really making their online promotion explode in sales for them.
People will ask me what kind of equipment do you really need to make a YouTube video as a lot of people think that you need a really expensive microphone and camera to make YouTube videos.
Well, I’m going to tell you this, you can make a Youtube video with a $20.00 microphone and you can use the camera that comes with your laptop or go to your local electronic shop and buy a cheap HDMI camera to attach to your computer to make YouTube videos.
Being on YouTube can explode your following and sales with your affiliate links 10x if you do it correctly and know how to get it ranking well on YouTube.
The thing about YouTube and this is my advice for you with my experience with YouTube if you want to be able to rank your videos well on Youtube follow these steps below so you can promote your affiliate links on your YouTube channel.
- Upload Videos Everyday
- How To Rank Videos
- Have People Subscribe
- Have People Hit The Notification Bell
- Scale It Back A Bit
Upload Videos Everyday
When you first start your YouTube channel, you’re not going to have followers and traffic so the only way you’re going to be able to accomplish this is you need content on your YouTube channel and lots of it.
So the first thing you’re going to have to do is start creating lots of videos on a daily basis on Youtube.
For the first 30 days or so try your best to get at least 1 video uploaded to youtube every day for the first 30 to 45 days so youtube and their parent company Google can see you uploading a lot of content so they can start sending you some traffic organically and this will take time to achieve.
How To Rank Videos
Now once you have a video createded and you want to be able to get those videos ranked for your affiliate links your promoting this is what to do next to get your videos to start ranking over time.
Find the keywords or keyword phrase you want to rank for, so if you’re looking to rank for the phrase for example How To Lose Weight example then use a keyword phrase Best Ways To Lose Weight In 30 Days or something that is unique for your videos.
Next make sure your using the keyword phrase in your Title, Description Text, and also use a Hashtag in the middle of your description text of that video
Use your keyword phrase in the tags section of the video as well for your ranking factor.
Make sure your keyword or keyword phrase you’re going to use starts first with your title, description, and hashtag for better rankings.
Have People Subscribe
When you first start your videos’ make sure to mention in the first 30 seconds or so to let your viewer know to subscribe to your channel so tell them on the video to click the subscribe link so they can follow you on youtube.
Have People Hit The Notification Bell
Next, have them click on the bell icon so when you have uploaded a new video they are notified that you have uploaded a new video to your channel.
Scale It Back A Bit
Now what I mean by this is once you have uploaded about 30 to 45 videos you should be starting to get subscribers to your youtube channel that you are using to promote your affiliate links.
So now it’s time to scale it back a bit, this is when you start a steady upload pattern of just uploading a video once a week so youtube and google get used to your uploading schedule and this will also give you your life back as well.
Pick a day once a week that you want to upload a video to youtube so you can promote your affiliate links to earning sales and your subscribers will know when your uploading new videos.
Search Engine Promotion
Search Engine Promotion can be learning how to do this for free and gaining organic traffic or you can pay a search engine like Google, Bing, and Yahoo to help you promote your affiliate links.
If you have a website or blog and your uploading quality content to it on a weekly or daily basis it won’t be long before your going to receive organic traffic naturally for your affiliate links getting traffic.
Now organic traffic does take time to start getting organic traffic but this is free traffic that doesn’t cost you anything if you know how to to do it correctly.
For those of you who are not looking forward to waiting for organic traffic and want to get their affiliate links out there to visitors fast you can promote with the search engines with promoting your links and offers.
You can set up a paid campaign with the search engines and pay them so much of a budget every time someone clicks on your ad and then they are sent to your website, blog, or affiliate link your advertising.
Most of the time with doing search engine promotion you’re looking at 0.05 cents a click to up to 3.00 a click to your ad, just depends on how competitive your niche or keyword is, the more competitive they are the more it’s going to cost you.
Email Marketing
Email Marketing is another one of those ways you can utilize for promoting your affiliate links and having others visit your affiliate marketing offers online.
For those of you who have a website or blog, you can add a subscribe section on your site so others can subscribe to your email list and they can receive an email from you on a weekly or monthly basis, I wouldn’t do it daily as that might have you lose more subscribers than have them subscribed over time.
Offer your visitors a free e-book or some kinda free e-course to give them an incentive if you can so they feel like they are receiving something in return for them giving you their email address it will work very well over time.
If you are not up to doing that with your website or blog so you can send out emails to your very own list to promote your affiliate links you can hire a professional company to do it for you.
There are companies out there you can hire to send out mass emails for you with the target market you’re trying to reach with your affiliate links to promote.
You literally can reach a lot of customers doing email marketing and have a very successful time doing so.
The top marketers online will tell you that email marketing to promote your affiliate links can be very rewarding.
They will tell you every email will earn you an average of about 1.00 per email on your email list.
How they do this for that earning potential is quite simple.
If you have collected over 1000 emails in your list, and you’re promoting a product with your affiliate links that cost 50.00 to buy, and if only 20 people from your 1000 email list buy your product its $1000.00 in sales.
So which works out to 1.00 per email right and that’s only if 20 people buy correct.
Just think if 50 people buy your affiliate product from one email sent to your email list.
So email marketing is something that can pay you very well over time with affiliate marketing links and promoting your offers online.
CONCLUSION
How to promote affiliate links can be very rewarding and simple if you know-how about going about doing it correctly.
If you have a website or blog you can promote your affiliate links on your website or blog to earning sales with your links.
Social Media is another great place for you to promote affiliate links to share with your family and friends and if you’re looking to reach the masses you can achieve this with social media by having others follow you with those platforms.
If you’re not shy of the camera you can create videos and upload those to your very own Youtube channel you can create and have a professional channel set up, so you can get subscribers to follow you and be notified when you are uploading a new video about your affiliate marketing links your promoting.
Maybe you want to use search engine promotion to get new customers to your affiliate links, this can also be done with the search engines with free organic traffic you earn overtime or pay the search engines and set up a paid campaign with them and start getting traffic to your links that way.
You can even do the email marketing promotion as well with you creating your very own email list with subscribers who visit your website or blog or you can hire a professional email marketing company to do it for you to get your affiliate links promoted.
I hope you found this post very informative and if you did please share it on your social media accounts with your family and friends.
